Only two games were reported as played when the BBF's Single-A South Division kicked off the season in glorious spring weather on Sunday 13 April. The Kent Mariners had a thrilling one-run win over Brentwood, but the London Marauders had a much easier time, downing the Essex Archers by 36-12.

On Sunday 13 April, 216 days after Hove Tuesday was crowned 2013 AA Champions, the battle for to find their successor teed off on diamonds across the country. In the BBF's AA South division, the Brentwood Stags and London Mammoths opened with doubleheader wins.
