The first weekend of the Herts Spring League on 21-22 March enjoyed good enough weather to get all games played and gave a glimpse of what we can expect from the 2015 British baseball season, which commences on 12 April.

An organisation called Education Travel Alliance (ETA) has contacted the BSF about bringing American senior slowpitch teams on a UK tour in 2016. But that's not all they do. ETA also arranges baseball and softball tours to Cuba, and they will be happy to do this for teams from Britain.

The Guildford Mavericks will be running a Baseball for Beginners course aimed at players new to the game or those with little experience. The course will begin on 30 April and will consist of six weekly sessions running every Thursday from 7:00-8.30 pm at the club’s ground at Christ’s College.

The BBF has announced further details and first round draws for their new knock-out Cup competitions in 2015 – competitions they hope will add interest to the season and draw fans from different areas to watch games between teams that don't normally play against each other.

The biggest pre-season baseball competition in Britain, the Herts Spring League (HSL), will begin on 21 March, with 20 teams competing over three weekends in Britain’s very own version of MLB’s Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues currently under way in the United States.

Over 20 London Mets youth players aged 13-16, plus coaches and parents, enjoyed four days of baseball in Nettuno, Italy over the recent half-term break. On the final day of the trip, the group was treated to a tour of Rome, visiting the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and the Coliseum.
