History boys set for big showing in AA South post-season

The London Mammoths have played impeccable baseball in the BBF's AA South Division in 2014, going unbeaten throughout the regular season. However, with so much on the line, other teams will be sure to step up and threaten their run to the National Baseball Championships.

The BBF Board has now set out “The Road to the Finals” for 2014 – the path by which teams at all four levels of British Baseball can achieve playoff places and then win through to places in the National Baseball Championships at Farnham Park.

The London Mammoths rounded out a perfect 2014 regular season in the BBF's AA South Division with two comprehensive wins over the Richmond Dragons on Saturday 16 August, while the Sidewinders picked up two more wins over the Guildford Mavericks on Sunday to bolster their playoff credentials.

Rain was a problem once again in the BBF's AA North Division on Sunday 17 August, but the doubleheader between Bolton and Liverpool survived and ended in a split. Now the top four teams in the division are looking towards the playoffs.

The Hull Scorpions hosted the final weekend of the BBF's AAA North Division regular season on Sunday 17 August. The weather was turbulent at best, but both teams played through the wind and rain and two wins over Halton meant that Hull edged out Liverpool for the division title.
