The London Mets breezed into Southampton on Sunday 4 June to challenge the first-place Southampton Mustangs. First the Mets won a low-scoring thriller and then they won a slugfest, and when the doubleheader was over, the Mets were on top of the NBL standings.

Four National Baseball League teams – the London Mets, London Capitals, Essex Arrows and Herts Falcons – gathered at the Falcons’ home ground in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday 21 May to play against each other, and it was the Mets and Arrows who prospered with doubleheader sweeps.
