Great GB comeback in the Euros ends in extra-inning frustration against Sweden

The GB Baseball Team dug themselves magnificently out of a 5-0 deficit against Sweden on Monday afternoon, came back from another run behind to tie the score in the 10th inning – and then lost the game in the 11th inning to go 0-4 in the European Championship.

In one of the best games played so far at the European Championship, GB fell behind Germany early on Sunday, then took a 2-1 lead, and then saw the Germans come back to tie and win a dramatic contest with a decisive run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

This was a frustrating game for the GB Baseball Team, who played on completely even terms with the Czech Republic on Saturday afternoon, matched the Czechs in most facets of the game – but still lost 4-1.

The final shoot-out of the year between the Oxford Kings and the Richmond Knights from the BBF’s Triple-A South Division came on Sunday morning 28 August in the Triple-A Championship Final at Farnham Park – and it was perhaps fitting that it was the Knights who came out on top.

London Mets go one up on Southampton in National Baseball Championship Final

Martin Tucker smoked a single to right field with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday at Farnham Park to break up a wonderful pitchers’ duel and give the London Mets a walk-off 1-0 win over Southampton in Game 1 of the National Baseball Championship final.

Richmond Knights and Oxford Kings to meet on Sunday in Triple-A Championship Final
