Martin Tucker smoked a single to right field with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday at Farnham Park to break up a wonderful pitchers’ duel and give the London Mets a walk-off 1-0 win over Southampton in Game 1 of the National Baseball Championship final.

It will be an all-Southern final on Sunday 28 August at Farnham Park in the BBF’s Triple-A National Baseball Championships after the South prevailed over the Midlands and the North in two exciting semi-finals on Saturday.

The Oxford Kings travelled to Essex for their final games of the Triple-A South campaign. The Richmond Knights had already sealed first place in the division and the Kings were assured of second place and a post-season spot along with the Knights, so it was all about playing for pride.
