From the 2014 season, BBF organised youth leagues, and tournaments became more closely aligned with Little League International, which is a global non-profit organisation that has standardised how youth baseball is structured in the majority of baseball-playing countries around the world.
The District Administrator for Little League in the UK is BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK). BSUK is in charge of organising, setting fees and eligibility requirements for Little League in the UK. For any club team wanting to be eligible for any Little League tournament or competition, it is required to register and pay a fee to the BBF (as the national governing body of baseball in the UK) as required by Little League rules.
In 2017, the BBF will offer a Super League for youths:
Regular season games are scheduled between April and June, with the UK Little League Qualifier Tournament planned in June at Farnham Park. These Little League Qualifiers will determine which teams (from fully registered clubs in the BBF) will represent Great Britain in the European Little League Qualifiers in June and July in Europe. Successful teams would ultimately progress to the Little League World Series tournaments held at various locations in the United States in August.
The BBF Youth National Baseball Championships (YNBC) are in September at Farnham Park (our national baseball and softball complex).
Additionally, the BBF supports the Play Ball programme run by BaseballSoftballUK, which introduces children aged 8-12 to bat and ball games, usually through their schools or a local league scheme.
