A sports website called Inside the Games is running a poll on which sport should be added to the Olympic programme for 2020 – and at the moment, baseball and softball are lagging well behind karate, squash and wrestling.
On 13 April 2013, the 43,520 fans inside Angel Stadium in Anaheim witnessed a little piece of history. Though most of them were probably unaware, Michael Roth’s call from the pen in the eighth inning made him the first GB pitcher, and the third GB player overall, to play in the Major Leagues.

The IBAF and the ISF have recently merged to form the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). The WBSC will take the lead in working to return baseball and softball to the Olympic programme for the 2020 Games, and the organisation has set out its vision for the two sports.
