The London Mets Youth Baseball Club train and play in Finsbury Park, North London, where we have our clubhouse and two diamonds. The club has organised training and league teams for young people in the Park since 1995. We are always looking for new players, of any level of experience - boys and girls at any level from beginner to international - aged from 7 through to 16. All equipment is provided. The London Mets have two travelling teams that play in the Southern division of the BBF national youth baseball league.
We have built a friendly and positive atmosphere at the club, with an emphasis on fun and good sportsmanship, development of skills and encouragement for all players to try their best at every level.
We have strong links with the Great Britain Baseball Academy and many of our players have played in the GB national team. Youth Leagues run from April through to September. Games are played on Saturdays, uniforms are provided. All of our Coaches are qualified and registered with BSUK. The club is run by volunteers and funded by donations and small grants.
The London Mets, reigning BBF National Pony Baseball Champions, have accepted an invitation to compete in the 2012 SUMA/PONY Baseball European Championships in Prague, Czech Republic, from April 18-22.
The London Mets Baseball Club will hold British baseball's first "Tryout Clinic" for talented young players aged 12-19 on Thursday evening, January 19, at the Go Mammoth Indoor Sports Facility in Canary Wharf, with three top coaches in attendance.
London Mets' 15-year-old shortstop Walker Goodman had an early career day on Saturday, leading his club to a sweep of the Herts Pony All-Stars at Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, May 21.
