2016 BBF Umpire Rates

For the 2014 season for the NBL, it was agreed to simplify the payments.  By paying a fixed travel expense irrespective of the distant travelled, it reduced time administering both payments and determining who should travel where based on cost.  For the 2016 season, the game rates will be maintained for the NBL and also for AAA clubs who wish to be assigned umpires who would also umpire NBL games.  The travel rate has increased slightly to reflect extra distance with an expanded league.

For all other leagues the rates are indicative only and therefore not mandatory to allow for local requirements and arrangements. These have been adjusted upwards based on a number of factors including feedback from surveys completed by clubs last year.  However, clubs are strongly recommended not to pay any more than the rate for the next league up whether indicative or not, This will help to keep the rates fair and affordable for all concerned.  For the 2017 season, a more detailed review will be carried out to determine rates based on a number of factors including individual umpire experience and qualification.
