The new year will see some important changes for the Southampton Mustangs Baseball Club, including an earlier start to training and open tryouts for both of the club's teams.

The new year will bring some important changes for the Southampton Mustangs Baseball Club.

First, training will start earlier in 2012, beginning on January 8 at the club's Eastleigh facility at the Wide Lane Sports Ground.

Second, the club will be having open tryouts for the first time, for both its National Baseball League team and second team, on Sunday, February 12.

The tryouts will provide an opportunity for people of all skill levels to join the club, as well as giving a chance to players who wish to move clubs to have a shot at playing in the NBL.

Southampton will also be hosting an experienced American coach for three months during the coming season, who has coached not just in the US but across Europe. This will provide a great opportunity for everyone at the club to improve their game.

Finally, the club will be re-designing its website in January, and the result will be a much more informative and user-friendly site.
